Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam (Peace Be Upon Him) was intelligent from a young age. He always told the truth and loved everyone. He respected his elders and was kind to the younger ones. He never insisted on anything. He was fond of wearing clean, bright clothes.

Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam (Peace Be Upon Him) would play with children his age. He would wrestle and race with them. He also learned to swim. He would do small and big household chores happily.

He began working with his uncle, Abu Talib, from a young age. Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam (Peace Be Upon Him) would take the livestock out of the city early in the morning. He would look after the sheep and goats all day, hold the reins of camels, and return home before sunset.

My dear children!

Once, due to a drought, a famine struck Mecca. People came to Abu Talib and said, “O Abu Talib! The children and adults are distressed with hunger. Please go to the Kaaba and pray.”

Abu Talib went to the Kaaba with the young Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam (Peace Be Upon Him) and prayed. In an instant, clouds covered the sky, and it began to rain heavily.

Abu Talib said this verse in praise of the Prophet:

“He is the beautiful face…because of whose blessings, rain falls.”
